Marine Village Townhomes in Hawthorne
One of the lesser known gated communities in Hawthorne is the complex called Marine Village. This small townhome community is located between 5401 and 5485 Marine Avenue just east of Manhattan Beach. The complex is adjacent to the more well known Fusion South Bay. Townhomes rarely become available in this community but the homes that do come on the market often offer a very large square footage for prices below Fusion and Three Sixty just up the road.
This small gated community conists of only 43 homes with two main types or layouts.

The most prevalent are the multi-level 4 bedroom townhomes in the middle of the community. These layouts offer around 2,076 square feet on three levels. This is definitely vertical living as they have a lot of bedrooms and square footage into a fairly small footprint so lots of square footage…..and lots of stairs. These homes all have some balcony and yard space although the patio/yard is off of the bedroom level and not the living level. The 4 bedroom layout units were all built in 1994.
The other main floorplan resides in the homes on the outside south facing location of the community. These are two story homes that have a bit of a single family feel once inside and offer 3 bedrooms and 3 baths but larger square footage of almost 2,200 square feet on only 2 levels. The yard space is directly off of the living level. The one drawback to these is that as they’re on the outer edge of the community (through a different gate) they are closer to Marine Ave and road noise is a bit of a factor. The 3 bedroom layouts are slightly newer and most were built around 1999.
HOA dues as of 2023 were around $380 a month. The community offers a nice pool areas but not much else in the way of amenities. It is, however, just up the street from Marine Ave Park in Manhattan Beach which has a nice playground, soccer fields, raquetball courts, basketball and a number of baseball fields. Marine Village townhomes are part of the award winning Wiseburn School District.
